and the winner is….Fins Restaurant, Kingscliff.
I had the tough job of being a judge for Best Seafood Restaurant (Regional) for the Seafood Excellence Awards. Fins was outstanding.
Steven Snow uses fresh local produce and organic foods when available. The seafood is fresh and local and when the fish are behaving themselves are line-caught. If you come up to the Far North Coast and you want a dining experience make sure you head to Fins.
There can only be one winner and Steven Snows restaurant, Fins was the outright winner. The announcement was made on Saturday night at the iconic Sydney Town Hall.
One of my dining buddies was Peter Vickery top ten contestant on this years Masterchef. I have known Peter since I was 12 and of course thought he was robbed when he was eliminated from the show. We dined at Rocksalt on the foreshore of Newcastle marina. I would be happy to go back and eat there anytime. Great location a variety of seafood on the menu and a relaxed dining style.
Peter was also invited to the awards night with another Masterchef contestant Jay. The awards evening was an opportunity to recognise individuals and businesses that strive for excellence in seafood, the evening was a great success.
